Another eventful & wonderful day

The new sparkling Gitzo Tripod
My dear friend Raja visited Pune few days back. We were coming back from Mumbai. On the way I also stopped by at one of my friend and batch mate at college Pravin, who also lives & works in Pune. He had invested in some really chunky and mouth watering photography gear and obviously was very excited about it. Raja’s flight was scheduled to land around 8pm so we decided to eat something before we enter the airport.  So we landed at this small shop with a board reading BENGALI in bold and all caps. The guy served good chicken roll. After filling up we reached airport, received Raja and drove to his hotel at FC road. The discussions that started in the car went on through the dinner, until we decided to say bye. It was already 1.00 AM by then. Another eventful & wonderful day went by leaving imprints some mental and some digital.

My 1st Visit to Meerut

My in-laws have shifted to Meerut so my visit to this historical city was all thanks to them. Though I could see very little of the city, but whenever opportunity presented for having golgappe and chat, I thoroughly indulged. Honestly the taste was just about okay, or may be my expectation was too much. As I have read in history books the city has seen a lot of important historical events. But be informed, you can’t see this city using a 4 wheeler. It has to be a 2 wheeler. So I am looking forward to my next visit and I intent to see the entire city riding a bike. But that would take some time.

The Unusual Visitor

This unusual visitor to my studio took liking to one of my WIP canvases and just wouldn't leave. This green guy with ET looks, kept on walking from one corner to other while I worked on it and also posed for the camera.

Durga Pujo 2010, Pune

Durga Pujo 2010, Pune

It was raining heavily on the Vijaya Dashami. It was sunny all through the Pujo. Everyone took for granted that Dashami would also remain the same way. But the nature had other plans. We also forgot to take the polythene sheets. By the time sheets were deployed everyone was thoroughly drenched.

A View from the Palm Beach Road

It's a cool drive of approx 12km. But the way builders are violating CRZ (coastal regulation zone) rules, very soon we would have tall buildings on both the sides of the road and the views like this would only be accessible through the windows of those skyscrapers. Who buys these flats don't they have any idea about rules, laws? Or may be they have complete faith in our system where in next few years may be the laws would change. CRZ rules would be scraped. And their building would be legalized. So go ahead, capture a part of the beach, build something before someone else does. Though before you do all this, make sure you have a lot of political and financial muscle. That would help.
